Safaricom – the leading mobile network in Kenya is down for some few hours now, and services such as voice, data and Mpesa have all been affected. This is a major outage for the operator as they have close to 30 million subscribers countrywide. Thus, this has affected communications, mobile money transactions, and connecting people too.
Safaricom faces technical hitch, customers across the country unable to make calls, or access the company’s services. They are however active on Social Media. It’s a total blackout.
According to their Twitter account, the issue is being sorted.

And Kenyan’s are concerned about what all this means.
If Safaricom is down and Mpesa is down, then all banking services in Kenya linked to Mpesa must be down too pic.twitter.com/xeyT4H9RaZ
