Dala 7s – the biggest sporting event in the whole of Western Kenya region happened last weekend in the port city of Kisumu.
The Dala 7s tourney – which is part of the Safaricom 7s National Circuit fourth leg did not disappoint just like the years past, and has continued to grow bigger and better, and continues to attract much bigger crowds and following every time the event happens.
This time round, it was a show of might between various corporate organizations. The whole event ground was aesthetically appealing with various brands putting up out-of-the box branded paraphernalia, actually competing against each other in “Who has the best eye-candy-tents 🙂 ” . They were sights to behold!
We hope that next year, more and more brands will come on board and put their products out here for the whole world to see, and also more homegrown companies to also support this worthy sport among others.
The Kisumu RFC were also well branded with one of Kisumu’s biggest employer – United Millers. Whose brand identity will be etched in this event for many more years to come.
The 2016 event was hosted at the usual ASK Mamboleo Showground, and had as much teams as possible performing. It was both a family event and an outdoor sports event. Kids were also catered for in their zone for unrivaled entertainment.
Food and drinks were in plenty, various brands for that matter.
The hometown Kisumu RFC didn’t win any trophy, but all the same managed to thrill the crowds in their group matches.
The Dala 7s 2016 winners were:
Main cup winner: Menengai Homeboyz!
Plate cup winner: KCB
Shield cup winner: Western Bulls
Bowl cup winner: Mean Machine – UoN
