Amsha Mama Initiative is a project that was launched in 2015 to empower women.
The co- founder of this supportive programme is Joe Kariuki, one of the most prominent businessmen in Kenya. He is also the Chief Executive Officer of Candy n Candy records and the Founder of Smile A Day movement, that aims at nurturing positive attitudes among Kenyans.
Recently, Joe was crowned among the Top 40 visionary Africans. When not at work, Joe is a philanthropist who does charity to empower the less fortunate.
He spends his leisure time in car races.
Amsha Mama originated from African Women And Beyond (AFWAB) that aims at mobilising and recruiting women from all walks of life to be connected to relevant business mentors and resources. Amsha Mama aims to empower over 20,000 women nationally.
After successfully launching Amsha Mama in Mombasa weeks ago, Joe Kariuki’s next stop is Kisumu.
The project aims to give women chicks to start up poultry keeping business, some will get platforms to showcase their products and the rest will get mentorship on the dos and donts when it comes to business.
Registration is currently ongoing at Jomo Kenyatta Sports Ground, the same venue for the Amsha Mama Festival.
The event will be graced by performance from Mercy Masika, Shaniqua, Ng’ang’alito, Nyota Ndogo, Susumila, Vivian Kenya among others.
At the end of the day, empowering a woman equates to empowering the entire society
