S6We must admit, the new Samsung Galaxy S7 unmasked at the recently held MWC in Barcelona is a beautiful specimen of cutting-edge tech and seductive metal-and-glass build.

Superseding its predecessor, the Galaxy S6 is nothing but an amazingly beautiful gadget to behold. And because of it, Samsung found itself flying high in the smartphone market last year 2015. However, now we are out with S6 in 2015, and coming in with S7 this 2016.

Samsung Galaxy S7 Video

Flashing back to 2014, even if S5 did not do so great, the Galaxy S6 flagship was a blockbuster followed by its Galaxy S6 Edge which was successful in bringing back the glory of the Samsung Mobile. With the coming S7, it could be that the company had figured out how to build a truly interesting smartphone again right? How true will that guess be? Only time will tell but for now let’s jump into what the Galaxy S6 gave us and what most of us had been hearing about Samsung Mobile’s next S-series flagship:  the Galaxy S7.

More on the Galaxy s6:

The Galaxy S6 came with its good and bad sides. As we know, smartphones will never be perfect. They can only try to be close but not even too close to perfection. The pros of the Galaxy S6 proved it had stylish design, impeccable camera experience and the TouchWiz UI (user interface) is finally worth using.

The bad side of the S6 shows that the battery isn’t removable and the battery juice wasn’t even good enough. Also, the fingerprint feature seems like it is not as responsive as it brags. Unlike the Galaxy S5, the S6 is not waterproof, neither is the memory of the device expandable via memory card.

As for Galaxy S7 Coming this 2016

For now, there are rumors flying around that the Galaxy S7 is coming to take over from S6. Very few leaked photos also prove the S7 holds some improvements in the design and in the TouchWiz UI that will be on the Galaxy S7. Amongst other factors that had been applied into consideration for the consumers, so far rumor has it that:

  • The Galaxy S7 will come with Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box.
  • The device will likely feature a Quad-core 4.0 GHz 64 bit processor with about 6 or 8 GB of RAM
  • The device will have a 5G network
  • Expect Ultra high super AMOLED display known as 4k and rumored variant sizes of 5.2 and 5.8-inches display.

These are just the specs for the S7 and it becomes a whole different ball game when we want to divulge into the specifications for the Galaxy S7 Edge.

As said before, time will tell if the rumors are actually correct, all we can do for now is anticipate for the launch date of the Galaxy S7 and hope to get our hands on the new gadget this 2016, hopefully platforms like Jumia and Kaymu would have it for consumers even to order before it is launched in Kenya so we can get our hands on it once it is launched.

One thing we know, the Luo of Kisumu and the diaspora cannot wait for the debut of this new Samsung phone. Actually, word on Oginga Odinga Street is that there are some people who’ve already signed up with the telcos when the phone is officially unveiled. Other’s have set up alerts to remind them when the phone hits the Kenyan mobo-market.
