The team selected under the auspices of the recently held Transform Kisumu Dinner meeting by Governor Ranguma, are expected to be the leading lights to take Kisumu City to the next level, and they are already achievers in their respective professions.

Gem Argwings-Khodek is currently the Agribusiness Adviser and Africa Agribusiness Window Manager: Africa Enterprise Challenge Fund (AECF) promoting and running challenge fund competitions for the largest agribusinesses venture capital fund in Africa. (www.aecfafrica.org). 178 countries, invested in 24 countries. He has also been involved in several long-term projects in association with his Alma-mater- The University of Arizona, Stanford University and Michigan State.

Nazir is currently the Group Hospitality Manager Simba Corp of the Villa Rosa Kempinski and Kisumu’s Acacia Premier Hotel chains. He previously worked in the USA with over 35 years in the Hospitality and Food Services. He heads the Hotel development division which is on a very aggressive growth path as a very integral part of our companies diversification portfolio. He holds a bachelor’s degree with emphasis on Marketing and Accounting from the University of Washington, Seattle, USA.

Ritesh is a serial entrepreneur; he is currently the CEO of Naked Pizza Kenya. He possesses diverse experience in both developed and emerging markets across private equity, investment banking, consulting, and most recently hospitality, logistics and operations. Ritesh is at the forefront of introducing new concepts to Kenya. This has resulted to him being featured on CNN International, CNBC Africa, Forbes, the Kenya Television Network, in addition to being a regular speaker at conferences.
She needs no introduction in Kenya. She produced the song Kisumu 100 that was used to celebrate Kisumu as the world’s first Millennium City in 2001, as in this Amazing Kisumu city of ours is currently 114 years young!
Suzanna Owiyo’s music is a fusion of traditional Western Kenya Music and traditional African instruments and contemporary rhythms. She has thrilled audiences all over the world with her unique and magical voice. Born in Kasaye Village near the lakeside city of Kisumu, Suzanna Owiyo was introduced to music at a tender age by her grandfather, who was a prolific Nyatiti player. Suzanna is involved in a Girl’s Empowerment Campaign Project titled “Because I am a girl” initiated by Plan International.
Kenneth is an accomplished leader with deep operational and leadership experience gained across multiple geographies globally. Having started off in fast moving consumer goods business, he has gained valuable knowledge in Brand and Marketing Management, Sales Management, Customer Marketing and Distributor Management and National Account Management.
An accomplished executive with over 15 years’ experience in various senior, executive positions of increasing responsibilities, Norah has gained experience in Strategic Management and Corporate Relations in multinational blue chip entities. Currently the Public Affairs and Communications Director of Coca- Cola Central East and West Africa, she leads reputation management of the company and its brand across 30 countries in Sub Saharan Africa.
Sheila Ochugboju is a development professional with specialist knowledge in science, environment and agricultural policy issues in Africa. She is also a skilled trainer and capacity development specialist who facilitate workshops in Science communication, scientific research and citizen advocacy. In 2010, she co-founded www.africaknows.com which sells unique authentic African Stock photography, to contribute to ‘telling a different story about Africa’ with words and pictures.
Yvonne Adhiambo Awuor is a published author (Weight of Whispers, Dust etc.), Arts manager/ producer, Creative Industry Lead with knowledge and experiences in a multiplicity of development and institutional issues including education, creative economy and business, conservation, experiential tourism, CIT for business and communities, micro-enterprise, event production, arts and culture product development. She has led and worked with teams in different program areas in different countries.
